tie dye

In the courtyard at the Swarthmore Centre in Leeds, where I was taking photographs for the Life Room project with Suki, there were many pieces of tie dyed material hanging and drying. This is one of them.

that drainpipe again ...

I love the contrast of the colours. The pink in the background was from some dyed cloth hanging to dry. More of that to come.

drainpipe

... or is it called a "downspout" in the US? It is a different language over there. In any case it is hard to see what it is. I found it in the courtyard at the Swarthmore Centre in Leeds where I was taking photographs for the Life Room project with Suki.

I like the scratched initials and the colour contrasts. Another view of it tomorrow.

fire escape with leaves

Last Saturday I was at the Swarthmore Centre in Leeds with Suki taking photographs for the Life Room project. The art room was through a courtyard and I took some photos in the courtyard. I'll publish them here over the next few days.

waxwings

Not very good photos I'm afraid - just a quick couple of snaps with the lens I had fitted. A bloke had started chatting to me earlier in the day outside the Swarthmore Centre where I was supposed to be meeting Suki. He said he was a birdwatcher and was looking for waxwings that frequented the squares in Leeds, stripping trees of their berries. Later in the afternoon I saw them there in Woodhouse Square in Leeds.

leaves

On Saturday I was at the Swarthmore Centre in Leeds taking photographs for the Life Room project with Suki. I'll publish a few of the photographs I took then over the next few days. Here are some leaves lit by the late afternoon, autumnal sun in Woodhouse Square.

stones and storytelling in Settle

On Saturday I attended a story telling event in Settle. It was part of the Settle Storytelling Festival. The stone sculptures were created by James Brunt and Timm Cleasby. The stories were told by Dave Tong and Nick Hennessy.

Leeds Gallery - 2

This is the other photograph accepted for the Suki exhibition at Leeds Gallery in the hung section. It was fascinating at the private view yesterday seeing it alongside some other awesome art work. There is amazing variety. Do visit if you have the chance. It is on for the whole of this month.

Leeds Gallery

I've had two photographs accepted for the Suki exhibition at Leeds Gallery in the hung section and some others and a poster in the bins. One of the photos in the hung section is this one. It took two sessions and a lot of work to get it right. Hope you like it.

aftermath

Taken at the Saltaire Full Monty on Saturday. The action itself to come soon I hope after negotiations on how much of the naughty bits needs cutting out!

Just a few snaps from the Harley Davidson rally in Baildon a few weeks ago.

Bloke Folk

Steve took me to "Bloke Folk" at the Ring of Bells in Shipley last night. (I think it might be only him who calls it that.) There was only one other woman there though.

I drank far too much but had a great night.

Photos taken with my Blackberry - music by Union Station. I'll have to go back and record some live music to go with it.

I've had a play with it and this is a new and I hope improved version! (Now also in black and white.)

Suki

Introducing Suki, a poet and writer who started life modeling to make ends meet.

We are working together on a major project "The Life Room". Much more of that soon.
